The NEC is now the Uk’s largest event venue and home to some of the biggest and best shows. The huge exhibition and conference centre has grown substantially in size since it was opened by Queen Elizabeth II in 1976 and now houses 18 halls, 32 conference suites and 186,000 m² of covered space. The NEC welcomes 2.1 million visitors and over 34,000 exhibiting companies to over 500 events every year, and is 80% larger than the UK’s next largest exhibition venue. Benefiting from unrivalled connectivity by road, rail and air, the NEC is the most conveniently located venue in the country. 75% of the UK’s population live within a three-hour drive of the venue and can access it through the fantastic transport network that surrounds the site. Travelling to the NEC
Located bang in the middle of the UK’s motorway network, jumping in the car is an ideal way to get to the NEC. Getting there by train is brilliantly easy also as the NEC is located a five-minute walk away from Birmingham International Railway Station. Birmingham Airport is right on the doorstep of the NEC, so it’s hardly surprising the venue attracts thousands of international visitors every year.
